Hello All,

Anyone going to the T&T Fest that has found some reasonable accomodation nearby??? I mean a motel/hotel/van park etc within walking?? distance of the venue!
Can anyone suggest anywhere, as I won't have transport in Sydney during that time.

It looks like I'm going on my own :-( .....as my bestie Tribal Girlfriend is getting married only 2 weeks after & can't do the time & $$s (of course!)

Any help appreciated!

:-)

I am not sure what accommodation is around Oatley. It is mostly a residential area. You might find some in Hurstville, which has a bit more of a commercial area, and you want to be close to Oatley.

However, if can find cheapie YHA or backpackers accommodation in Sydney CBD, make sure you have easy walking distance to the railway. If you stay close to the ILLAWARRA line which runs from Bondi to Cronulla or Waterfall via Central, the trains often stop at Oatley. Check out Cityrail's webite.

Alternatively, you can stay at backpackers in Cronulla (beaches) or hotel accommodation and catch the train from Cronulla to Oatley, which would take only 25 mins.

    Good luck.

    Hi Shirin,

17 girls form Free Spirit Gypsy Tribal and Tribalive! are coming over from Perth, and we're staying at Billabong Gardens in Newtown. www.billabonggardens.com.au

We could not find anythingclose to the venue either and decided to stay on Newtown instead.

So if you can book into the same place, then you could come along with us on the train to and from the TTF. :) :) :)

    Cheers, Annabella

      Hi Shirin

Have you been successful with finding accommodation? It is a bit disappointing that you've had only two replies. I guess other tribe members are probably asking the same questions as you did.

Staying in Newtown, as Annabella is a good idea, though it would mean having to change trains to get to Oatley. I miss walking up and down the street in Newtown. Plenty to see and BUY.

      Cheers, Susan

ive just shot an email via our own tribe chat (hi Linda) rolling out the welcome mat

anyone who wants to hang with the blossoms we're going to be in ultimo hotel - the renovated grace bros, about a 10 min walk from central station and pretty good value in my opinion....i wanted to stay central even though we are a 40 min train ride out :(

just make sure you tell me if you want a quiet sleeping roommate (meaning not me! im the devil when im away with the girls!)

I'll have my own place in Wollongong by then- which is a train ride or a car ride up to the festival (I'll hopefully have a van by then- as I'm supposed to be vending at T&T)

If anyone gets stuck, I'm pretty sure I'll have a bed spare. We're hoping to get a hotel room in my favourite place...but its a secret :D

I just have to clear up a few details with Deb (the Fest) organiser) & hope to be laying my $s down this week?

    Ohhh - so jealous

None of the southern Tas girls are going, not sure about Kat and Ange from northern Tas.

We all spend big going to Cairns for Paulette, so budgets are well and truly spent!

Enjoy all and hope to meet and catch up sometime!

On a similar topic, is anyone else staying in the city and having to catch the train after the Red Carpet night? I haven't booked a ticket yet because I don't really want to catch a train back to my hostel by myself at that time of night.

the blossoms will be training it back to and fro so you're welcome to join the safety of our gang! :)

we're 10 mins walk from central station if you're anywhere near there?

Thanks, Dee. I'm staying at a hostel across the road from Museum station so I'm not worried about walking on my own in the city, but having company on the train would be great :)

Don't forget, there is backpackers accommodation in Cronulla. Despite the negative press about racial tensions, Cronulla is middle Australia. It is a casual friendly area with some great shopping, not to mention a ferry ride across the Port Hacking to the Royal National Park and Bundeena (if you have the time).

Of course there are hotels there you can stay in, if you wish.

The point of this post is to say that if you don't want to stay in the city, Cronulla is directly linked to Oatley via the railway. If you check out the State Rail site, you will find that a rail trip from Cronulla to Oatley would take about half an hour, depending on which train you take.

Across the Georges River from Oatley (connected by rail) there is Como and I think there is accommodation at the Como Hotel.

            Good luck.

      Hi Bridgett,

The grils from Tribalive! and Free Spirit Gypsy Tribal will be training it to and from the Red Carpet night. We're staying in Newtown, so you are most welcome to come that part of the way with us on the train.

We'll be a big group of about 16 or 18 so there's more than enough of us to scare away any creeps. :) :)

      Cheers, Annabella
