as u know shipping from the USA can be a killa, IF the shops will ship to you at all...

But after much enquiring, negotiating & frustration... i managed to find a trustworthy store with only a few in stock at the mo and would ship to Australia fully insured. The shipping price was only US$10 difference between shipping 1 as opposed to shipping 4... so you can see why i am on here looking for partner/s. I am not making any financial gain out of this... I just want my sword without having to sell my first born child for it. They will end up costing approxmately AU$160 landed in Brisbane each. Posting on costs to persons outside Brisbane will then make it cost a extra. Only serious enquiries please...

Moniq, I would be checking with customs before you organise to ship them here. There may be extra charges on bringing them in (due to their monetary value), and they may also not allow their import if they are sharp.

It always pays to check all the boxes before importing something like knives and swords...I speak from experience....
If there are no other charges, I might be interested in buying one.

Are they from Kult of Athena?

      HI Amara

I have an email from customs myself allowing the import of these and confirm as per their statement

"The importation of swords is not restricted by the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956. However, I suggest that you contact the police firearms and weapons registry in your state or territory to confirm if there are any restrictions where you intend to import the swords too."

I just received some of these myself and they're great quality. they do come sharp, but a half hour with a grinder will help, and I suggest rounding the tip off, and marking the balance points with some notches (otherwise the hilt does rather go WHACK on your poor head when the sword slides on clean hair). They are a heavy sword great for someone experienced at handling swords...and I'd buy them again if I had the choice.

      Warm Regards
      Dee

that for qld though Dea.. i believe in Victoria they have banned them. and i think you can get around it down there by joining a knife appreciation club. Incidently the reason they banned the importing into Victoria came about by an incident actually that my flat mate back in my melbourne days was a kind of witness too.

so i guess there ARE some good things about qld afterall! :)

        the incidnet: news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx
        Victoria laws: www.knivesaustralia.com.au/swor....html

so i am not sure how the Vic laws would affect me if i were to send/bring to Melbourne etc.
I will get back to you all after some phone calls.
What happened to i jsut go to a balcksmith and buy a fricken sword... and pay taxes with 3 goats etc... they have really made life so complicated havent they?!?!? hehehe

I knew there were some laws somewhere about it, but being in WA, I wasn't sure which state was hardcore about it.

Did you get smacked with any extra customs fees when they arrived? I know that for me, anytime I've bought anything from overseas I've been smacked with extra fees according to the items value, unless its been marked 'Gift'.

Hey Mon, You know Dee is ordering 4 more in a month from a trusted supplier? Why dont you just save yourself the drama and hassle and just take dibs on one of the next four. It will end up costing the same as you have said in your original post.. And youll get it sooner.
On the note of what the cas is like to handle As Dee said they are sharp and have a nasty tip. But when the swords are blunted and notched they work and handle very well especially if you like a heavy kick arse looking sword. A word of warning though and I think Iam reiterating a comment from Dee, they are not a beginner or dabbler sword. They are an experienced dancers sword and you need to really work with the sword daily and get to know it. They are too heavy and hardcore for beginners and those who dont dance with swords often. I cant remember the actual weight but they are heavier than the Moorish Scimitar - and thats a heavy baby too. But for those advanced sword dancers who love a heavy sword that looks more like a weapon not a pretty little "butter knife" as Dee refers to a pair of my old swords - the cas is a good investment and is stronger and will last a life time,
On shipment. - I bought a Moorish sword awhile ago from the states. From reading these posts I was abit silly and didnt check customs or anything, The seller however did note of the packageing that there was a sword inside and it was opened by customs - re packaged and resent on its merry way to me. Like the cas it was sharp, so probably lucky by the sounds that I got it at all.
